Kairat Saribay: Azerbaijan plays important role in ensuring regional cooperation and security
As part of his visit to Tajikistan, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Executive Director of the AQEM Secretariat Kairat Saribay.
Report informs, citing the Foreign Ministry that during the meeting, the Executive Director noted Azerbaijan’s active participation in the AQEM from the first day and expressed his gratitude in this regard. He commended Azerbaijan’s coordinating role in confidence-building measures for the safe and efficient development of transport corridors within the AQEM.
Kairat Saribay stressed that Azerbaijan plays an essential role in ensuring regional cooperation and security.
On his part, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that Azerbaijan had supported the AQEM initiative from the very beginning and was one of the first countries to join it, emphasizing that Baku is closely involved in the activity of this platform. The minister said that the country would continue to play a coordinating role in the framework of confidence-building measures for the security and efficient development of transport corridors, and the next event will take place in this regard shortly.
The sides also exchanged views on other regional issues, especially on new international cooperation opportunities in the post-conflict period.
