Azerbaijani, Russian Presidents hold phone conversation

On April 1, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation.

Report informs that the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh was discussed during the phone talk. The sides expressed satisfaction with the overall stability and the observance of the ceasefire.

Taking into account the talks held in Baku by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexei Overchuk, the progress of work on the regulation of economic relations and transport communications in the South Caucasus under the statements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia on November 10, 2020, and January 11, 2021, was discussed. In this context, the working group’s activities co-chaired by the Deputy PMs of the three countries were positively assessed.

The two leaders also touched upon several topical issues on the bilateral agenda, including cooperation in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. The sides reaffirmed their determination to strengthen the Azerbaijan-Russia strategic partnership and continue developing mutually beneficial projects.

It was agreed to continue cooperation.
