Scientists reveal maximum possible human lifespan

Biologists from Singapore, Russia and the United States have created a test that, by analyzing blood, can determine the general condition of the body and physiological stability, Report informs, with reference to the scientific journal Nature Communications.

A group of scientists led by Peter Fedichev from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) proposed using the universal complex indicator DOSI (dynamic organism state indicator) to assess biological aging. According to them, this indicator depends on age, the presence of diseases and lifestyle. The biologists calculated the level of resistance using data on physical activity, which they received from special sensors attached to the study participants.

According to scientists, the organism becomes least resistant by 120-150 years of age. Thus, the article concludes that 150 years is the maximum theoretically possible human lifespan.

According to Fedichev, they came to the conclusion that the age limit leading to death “is an inherent biological property of the body, which does not depend on stress factors and means a fundamental or absolute limit of a person’s lifespan.”
