Russia launches production of new drug against COVID-19

Russia has begun to produce the anti-COVID immunoglobulin based on the blood plasma of those who have recovered from the pathogen. There are plans to increase it, Report informs, citing RIA Novosti.

“This is an anti-COVID immunoglobulin. It’s already a highly concentrated drug that helps neutralize the virus, and it, of course, is of the highest priority compared to anti-coronavirus plasma,” Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said in an interview as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

He clarified that monotherapy with certain drugs does not always give the full effect, so the doctor chooses, among other things, a combination. Now there are new data on the combination of blood plasma with antiviral drugs, the minister explained.
