“Azerbaijan and Sweden have a great heritage in the field of textile art. So, I believe that there are opportunities for future cooperation,” Swedish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Christian Kamill told Report.
However, he said that companies should show interest and initiative in cooperation in this area.
The ambassador touched upon the art of carpet weaving in Azerbaijan: “Every foreign visitor to Azerbaijan admires the patterns of Azerbaijani carpets. I hope that owing to the new leadership of Azerkhalcha, examples of carpet weaving will be exhibited in the broader space – in the Scandinavian countries.
Notably, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Sweden in the first five months of this year amounted to $ 9.995 million, decreasing 11.7% compared to the same period last year. Azerbaijan’s exports amounted to 615,000 US dollars in trade turnover, while Sweden’s exports to Azerbaijan made up 9.340 million US dollars.
