Explosion hits plant in Central China

According to the official website of the government, an explosion rocked a plant on the production of aluminum alloys in the city of Dēngfēng of the Henan province in the central part of China.

Report informs, citing TASS, that according to the document, the explosion occurred at around 06.00 local time due to the flooding in the river flowing close to the plant. According to the authorities, at 04.00 local time, the water level in the river grew sharply, which damaged the plant’s wall, as a result of which the water penetrated the plant’s territory. The facility immediately stopped the electricity supply and started evacuating workers.

At around 06:00, as the water spread around the plant, a high-temperature solution in the reservoir for the alloys occurred. Utilization works are currently underway at the site of the incident.

According to authorities, no one died in the explosion. There are no reports of casualties.
