Tourists contracting COVID-19 in Valencia to be isolated in hotel rooms

The Italian government has adopted a new decision to quarantine tourists contracting the coronavirus during their vacation in Valencia in hotel rooms, Report informs, citing TASS.

Travelers who violate the isolation rules will have to pay a fine of up to 30 thousand euros.

The new protocol will be valid until September 15. According to the norm, an infected tourist can be quarantined in a hotel, camping, or apartment where he stays for ten days. Specific rooms will be allocated in hotels to isolate guests.

The extension of the hotel stay can be paid by the client himself, including through travel insurance. The hotel can also bear the costs as part of the public-private partnership plan.

Hotels that do not extend a client’s stay with coronavirus can be fined 10 thousand to 100 thousand euros. An infected tourist who violated the quarantine can be charged from 601 to 30 thousand euros, depending on the risk to third parties. Moreover, hotels will not have any authority to force sick customers to stay in the hotel against their will.
