Azerbaijani colonel explains how enemy’s counterattack in direction of Horadiz was prevented

All battles were led by Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. Armenians counterattacked in the direction of Horadiz on October 7-8, but thanks to the bravery of Azerbaijani soldiers, the enemy suffered heavy losses and retreated, Colonel Elshad Abilov, an official of the Ministry of Defense, said at a conference entitled ‘Meeting of Generations’ at the Baku Congress Center.

According to him, the Azerbaijani people’s attention to the army is unforgettable: “Generals, soldiers, or officers – everyone was a warrior in the battle. But in the Armenian army, officers fled leaving their soldiers to the mercy of fate. There were thousands of fugitives in the Armenian military, and criminal cases have been opened against them. But the Azerbaijani Army was advancing every day, and every citizen wanted to join the army.”

“We will not allow anyone to look down on Azerbaijan. Although Azerbaijan has a strong army, we still need to strengthen our military. We conducted a new war in the new century, broke the enemy’s back, and liberated our lands,” Abilov stressed.
