VMedia: Mount Ararat mentioned in the Bible close to Turkey’s border with Syria, not Armenia
VMedia’s YouTube channel has released a new video exposing another false claim of Armenians – that Ağrı dağı (Ararat) belongs to Armenia.
According to Report, the authors of the channel say that Armenians call them Greater and Lesser Ararat and consider them theirs: “It has reached the level where they have been given the status of national symbols, and their images are depicted on the country’s coat of arms. The main focus here is on the legend that Noah’s ark came to this mountain. The point is that the connection of “Armenian” Mount Ararat with the mountain mentioned in the Bible has never been confirmed by any serious scientist.”
The video says that the Armenians managed to deceive great church figures such as Pope John Paul II and St. Patriarch Kirill with legends about the ownership of Mount Ararat. However, Armenians could not deceive serious historians with these tales. For example, the director of the State Hermitage, Mikhail Piotrovsky, said that there was no connection between the ancient Ararat mentioned in the Bible and the present Ararat.
“The Bible describes the place where Noah’s ark landed as “the mountain of Ararat.” The mountain stretched from the Mesopotamian lowlands in the north to the Lake Van in the south. The location of this mountain in the north of Assyria shows that the legend of the Flood and Noah’s Ark in the Bible covered the plains of Mesopotamia and did not go beyond it. The Bible, one of the oldest sources of humanity, sheds light on the myths of Mesopotamia while describing the famous tale of the global flood. These legends reveal that it is impossible to create myths about the worldwide flood “outside Mesopotamia.” For this reason, both in ancient times and in the Middle Ages, the mountain on which Noah’s ark was located was sought not in the Caucasus but near Turkey’s current border with Syria. Therefore, the ship should be searched on another mountain, not on the Turkish-Armenian border.
“The matter is about not only Armenia but also the history of the entire Middle East and the worldwide mega fake. World historical science refutes this fake! We do not intend to dispute the right of the Armenian state to create any symbols and place them on the state emblem, to use them in historiography, education, culture, as well as to exploit them in the field of tourism. Contrary to science, it is already a personal choice of anyone interested in Armenia to believe it or not,” video notes.
