Azerbaijani FM, incoming Romanian envoy pledge to further deepen ties

On October 7, 2021, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received the newly-appointed Romanian ambassador to Azerbaijan Vasile Soare. The ambassador presented a copy of his credentials to the minister, Report says, quoting the Foreign Ministry.

Noting the close cooperation and strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Romania, the minister stressed the potential for further development of bilateral relations and stressed the need for joint efforts in this regard. The minister expressed satisfaction with cooperation between the two countries, as well as on international platforms.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov spoke about the current situation in the region, new realities after the settlement of the conflict, the restoration and construction work in the liberated areas, as well as the existing mine threat. It was stressed that normalization of relations with Armenia is possible with the elimination of the occupation factor, and for this, first of all, it is important to fully comply with the implementation of the trilateral statements, open communications, as well as begin the delimitation process.

Referring to the existing strategic partnership between the two countries, ambassador Vasile Soare described it as a real partnership. He said that bilateral relations are based on the principle of respect for the territorial integrity and this is the principled position of Romania. The ambassador spoke about the prospects for expanding the existing partnership between the two countries, including the continuation of political dialogue, economic, energy, connectivity, as well as cultural, educational and other ties.

The parties stressed the importance of developing bilateral cooperation in all areas and the determination to make full use of existing opportunities in this regard.
