Azerbaijani Health Ministry urges speeding up vaccination of children

“We also concerned about the growing number of infections on daily basis. We predicted an increase over seasonal changes,” Tayyar Eyvazov, an infectious disease specialist at the Health Ministry, said, Report informs.

According to him, the first reason for the increase in the number of infections is related to measures to soften the lockdown: “Also, another reason for the increase in the number of the infection is the number of people indoors due to cold weather. Therefore, it is necessary to air the premises regularly. Failure to follow the appropriate rules in offices and workplaces also contributes to the increase in the number of infections.”

Tayyar Eyvazov added that schoolchildren are not vaccinated: “As soon as the infection numbers go up, people prefer wearing masks. We need to speed up the vaccination process. The number of vacant beds at hospitals is one of the main indicators. At other times, the number of infections did not matter during a flu epidemic. After a while, mainly the issue of complications of the disease will be on the agenda.”
