Ukraine’s anti-doping agency chief resigns


The chief of the National Anti-Doping Organization of Ukraine has resigned due to suspicions of violating the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) code, Report informs, citing TASS that the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine reported this on Wednesday.

“The National Anti-Doping Organization of Ukraine violated the international testing standard. Therefore, today the director of NADCU, Ivan Kurlishchuk and his deputy, Yaroslav Kruchek, resigned,” the ministry said on its Facebook page.

Minister Vadym Gutzeit, who was quoted by the department, promised that “the reaction to the violation will be instant and harsh”. He stressed that the ministry takes a clear position on the fight against doping and will not allow breaking the rules.
