The laying of a gas pipeline as part of the development of the Sakarya deposit in the Turkish sector of the Black Sea will start in the spring of 2022, Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Donmez said, Report informs, citing Anadolu.
In his opinion, the engineering and design work for the development of the gas deposit has been completed, and the order for the supply of pipes has been made.
On August 21, 2020, the Turkish president announced the discovery of a large natural gas field in the Black Sea. Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the country expects to obtain gas from the Black Sea by 2023.
The president recalled that the volume of proven gas reserves in the Danube-1 section of the Sakarya field amounted to 405 billion cubic meters.
