Pundit: “Joe Biden’s foreign policy course is heading for bankruptcy”

“The US attitude towards Turkey is also directed against other Turkic states. Apparently, the United States is wary of the union of Turkic states. Therefore, the West is expected to take a negative position against these countries in the future,” pundit Alimusa Ibrahimov, professor of the Faculty of International Relations and Economics at Baku State University (BSU), told Report.

“In general, Joe Biden’s foreign policy course did not justify itself. Relations with individual countries, including Turkey, Russia and China, show that Biden’s foreign policy is heading for bankruptcy. The fact that none of the Turkic states was invited to the summit gives grounds to say that Biden is not an ‘actor’ in international politics as president,” he said.

The professor stressed that relations between the international powers will become even tenser: “Various US presidents, including Joe Biden, have from time to time tried to use the factor of democracy as a means of influencing other countries. The current reality is that the United States, Russia and China cannot come to a common denominator. As you know, the talks between the presidents of the United States, Russia and China did not yield the desired result. After that, a new phase will begin and tensions will further increase. I must also say that the invitation of Armenia to this summit is not in its favor, but to its detriment. The United States has little chance of influencing the process. It is quite possible that Russia will punish Armenia in the near future.”

The Turkic states, as well as US’s key rivals – Russia and China – were not invited to the democracy summit on December 9-10. This is an indication that the United States is using the factor of democracy for its own political purposes. The US withdrawal from Afghanistan, as well as the Arab Spring in various countries, is the impact of the “democratic values” of Washington.
