Israel extends ban on foreigners’ entry

The Israeli authorities extended the ban on the entry of foreigners until December 29 and retained the previously existing restrictions on exit due to the spread of the new omicron coronavirus strain, Report informs, citing The Times of Israel.

“The Israeli government voted to extend the ban on the entry of foreigners into the country at least until December 29. At first, restrictions were introduced from November 29 to December 12, then extended by ten days,” the newspaper reports.

The newspaper notes that entry into Israel is possible only in exceptional cases.

Moreover, the authorities have expanded the ‘red list’ of countries to which Israeli citizens are prohibited from entering. Thus, the updated list includes Norway, Ireland, Finland, France, Spain, and the United Arab Emirates. Upon arrival from these countries, Israelis must comply with quarantine regardless of whether they have a coronavirus vaccination certificate.
