Uzbekistan commissions advanced gas processing plant

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Saturday inaugurated an advanced gas processing plant designed to produce up to 1.5 million tons of fuel per year.

Report informs citing TASS that the ceremony of launching the plant was broadcast on Uzbekistan 24 TV channel.

“Such enterprises are built only through investments. This enterprise is being launched, and now the most important thing is for our people to feel the benefit of it. We have been selling gas for so many years, but we have not seen any profit. We will create additional value by carrying out advanced processing at such plants,” Mirziyoyev said at the ceremony.

At the same time, he especially noted that the Uzbekistan GTL (gas-to-liquids) plant is one of the largest investment projects not only in Uzbekistan but also in the CIS countries.

This enterprise, built in the Guzar district of the Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan, is capable of processing up to 3.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year to produce 1.5 million tons of high-quality liquid synthetic fuel. Aviation kerosene, diesel fuel, naphtha (naphtha), and liquefied gas produced here will not only satisfy the needs of the domestic market but also export these products.
