Moscow, Baku, Yerevan finalizing parameters for launching regional infrastructures

Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, within the framework of a trilateral working group, are finalizing the parameters for launching joint infrastructure projects, Report informs, citing Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko’s interview with RIA Novosti.

“We consider this format to be one of the key in the work on the normalization of the Azerbaijani-Armenian relations… At present, as agreed by the leaders of the three countries in Sochi, the parameters for launching joint infrastructure projects are being finalized,” he said.

According to him, Russia’s approach is that the relevant decisions can be sustainable only if there is a consensus between Baku and Yerevan.

“Therefore, we are in favor of a balanced provision of the interests of Azerbaijan and Armenia in a single `package’,” the deputy minister summed up.

He recalled that within the framework of this mechanism, the whole range of issues of unblocking transport and economic ties in the South Caucasus is being considered, including the restoration of both regional rail and road communications.
