Azerbaijan fails to pay compensations set by the European Court of Human Rights

Victims of political persecution in Azerbaijan often turn to the European Court of Human Rights seeking justice. Even though, as a rule, decisions are made in their favor, the Azerbaijani government does not always pay compensation according to the decisions of the European Court. This attitude can be understood as an additional way of repression against its critics.
