Azerbaijani customs body reveals over 17,000 offenses in 2021

In 2021, the customs authorities of Azerbaijan, as a result of comprehensive measures to strengthen operational-search and law enforcement activities, revealed 17,144 cases of offenses.

Report informs, citing Guloglan Muradli, First Deputy Head of the Main Operational Investigation Department of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.

“If we look at the recent five years, despite the pandemic, we will see an increase in the number of offenses. By 2021, there was a decrease in the proportion of crimes among these offenses. If in some years this indicator was 8%, then in 2021 it was only 2.4%,” Guloglan Muradli noted.
