Erdogan explains reason for increasing natural gas volume from Azerbaijan

“We have increased the amount of natural gas we receive from Azerbaijan. We have put into operation the Duz Golu and Silivri underground gas storages,” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told reporters after a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, Report informs, citing Haber7.

He attributed this to a technical malfunction in the natural gas pipeline from Iran to Turkey:

“In this regard, the blue fuel imported from Iran has decreased. We have agreed with Iran to carry out technical troubleshooting after the weather warms up, the full supply of natural gas has been restored.”
