Azerbaijani energy minister meets US ambassador

Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov received US ambassador to Azerbaijan Earl Litzenberger, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Energy.

Bilateral relations in the energy sector, the VIII Ministerial Meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council, and the prospects for expanding the corridor were discussed at the meeting.

Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov said that the VIII meeting of the Advisory Council was productive and useful for the future development of the Southern Gas Corridor.

At the meeting, the US ambassador noted that natural gas will play an important role in the energy transition, so it is important to encourage investment in natural gas projects. He stressed that Azerbaijan is a reliable energy supplier.

They also exchanged views on renewable energy projects as well as the export of green energy and opportunities for future hydrogen production, including cooperation with international companies.
