The Interior Ministry confirmed: A relative of Ramiz Mehdiyev has been detained

Chief of the Secretariat of the President of ANAS Eldar Amirov was detained by officers of the Main Department for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

Chief of the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs police Colonel Ehsan Zahidov confirmed the information in a statement.

He said that, Eldar Amirov was detained in order to investigate the information received by the Interior Ministry: “Currently, the investigation is underway.”

Let `s note that, Eldar Amirov is the nephew of R. Mehdiyev, who resigned from the presidency of ANAS. He was also R. Mehdiyev’s assistant. (Report)
