A new complex of elite buildings is planned to be built in the Yasamal district of Baku, near the Central Park, in the area formerly known as Sovetsky.
According to the information, the construction works cover a large area – from Shikhali Gurbanov Street in the east (Nizami metro) to Abdulla Shaig Street in the west, from Suleyman Rahimov Street in the south to the north. Fuad It will cover the area up to Ibrahimbayov Street.
The total construction area will be 606,000 square meters. The project will be implemented by an unnamed private company. The project plans to relocate and resettle tens of thousands of Sovetsky residents.
The project will build 24 high-rise residential complexes and 8 low-rise buildings.
Ramiz Idrisoglu, spokesman for the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, was asked to comment on the project.
He said that the State Committee has not received any official request to implement this project.
It was also revealed that the current project is a concept developed by a private construction company for the reconstruction of the old Sovetsky, and it is too early to talk about its implementation until the issue of financing and approval of the project is resolved in government agencies.
