Erdogan warned Greece

The Turkish President said that Ankara will not relinquish its rights.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that Greece must stop arming non-military islands and abide by international agreements.

According to Reuters, he said this on June 9 while observing the military exercises of the Turkish army on the west coast of the country.

“I urge Greece to refrain from dreams, actions and statements that could lead to regret. Come to your senses, “Erdogan said.

Erdogan said that Turkey will not give up its rights in the Aegean and its rights under international agreements on armaments.

Ankara accuses Greece of violating its airspace over the disputed islands in the Aegean Sea, and tensions between the two sides have risen recently.

The two NATO members resumed bilateral talks last year after a five-year hiatus over disputed territories and other differences in the Mediterranean.

It should be noted that for many years there has been a dispute over the disputed territories in the Arabian Sea, the natural resources of the sea, as well as the island of Cyprus, which has been divided into two since 1974.

The parties periodically accuse each other of violating their airspace and maritime borders.
