Scotland wants another independence referendum

Such a referendum must be authorized by the British government
Scottish Prime Minister Nicola Storjen told a news conference in Edinburgh on June 14 that preparations were under way for another referendum on Scotland’s secession from the United Kingdom.
The document, published on the official website of the Scottish Government, reads: “Independence in the modern world. Healthier, happier, fairer. Why not Scotland? ” is called.
This document explains the provisions of the new state in Scotland.
In the foreword to the document, Ms. Storjen writes that now is the best time to build a “new Scotland after Brexit and Boris Johnson.”
The Scottish Prime Minister is convinced that under London’s rule, Scotland will be left alone.
He said he had a “clear and transparent” mandate to hold a second referendum as Scotland’s first elected official.
Ms Storjen said that if the UK government had “any respect for democracy”, Scotland should be allowed to hold a referendum.
He said he was ready to discuss the terms of the referendum at any time.

London is not inclined to allow it
Such a referendum must be authorized by the British government.
Nicola Störcen pointed out that if London refuses to issue such a permit, then another legal basis will be prepared.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson said now was not the best time to talk about a referendum.
Earlier, he said that another independence referendum would not be allowed in Scotland, and said that the last referendum was held in 2014.
At that time, 55% of Scots voted to remain part of Britain. However, during the referendum, no decision was made on Britain’s withdrawal from the European Union.
Scottish nationalists believe that if the 2014 referendum had been held after Brexit, the result could have been radically different.
In a Brexit referendum, a majority of Scots voted to remain in the EU.
Recent opinion polls show that the percentage of supporters and opponents of independence in Scotland is now about the same, but only one in three people want a referendum.
