The wedding of the veteran of the Great Patriotic War and the daughter of the National Hero took place

Veteran of the Great Patriotic War Denis Guzlayev married Regina Kovalyova, daughter of the National Hero of Azerbaijan Yuri Kovalyov.

Their relationship began after the war – when Denis was injured and receiving treatment in hospital.

Denis Guzlayev was born in 1999 in Baku. Before the war, he worked as a cook in one of the restaurants in the capital. Veteran who took part in the mobilization battles was seriously wounded as a result of shells fired by the enemy. Denis, a Russian national, underwent several difficult operations during the war and was in a coma for 10 days.

Denis Guzlayev was awarded the medal “For the release of Fuzuli”.

Regina’s father, National Hero Yuri Kovalyov, was also born in Goychay to a Russian family. He was killed in 1991 when his car was fired upon by Armenians when he returned from another mission in Khojavend. He was buried in the Alley of Martyrs in Baku. School No. 229 in the capital is named after him.

Denis Guzlayev and his daughter Regina Kovalyova were presented with an apartment on the wedding day. The statement came from Murad Hashimov, spokesman for the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
