Lightning struck the Eiffel Tower

The famous Eiffel Tower in Paris was struck by lightning last night.

According to Lent.az, the dangerous natural phenomenon caused the appearance of interesting images.

According to the official website of the tower, when it was built in 1889, four lightning devices were placed in the tower. The devices are connected to the ground by a thick copper cable. Although the tower is struck by lightning on average 5 times a year, no incidents have been reported so far.
Engineer Gustav Eiffel said at the time that, like all homes, the task of the lightning conductor was to transmit voltage to Earth.

The French jokingly call the Eiffel Tower the world’s tallest lightning rod.
