Steps have been taken to reduce the price of meat – the Prime Minister signed a decree

Amendments have been made to the “Rules for monitoring the implementation of veterinary measures for the diagnosis and prevention of animal diseases and the identification of farm animals, which allows to observe each animal or group of animals for this purpose.”

In this regard, Prime Minister Ali Asadov signed a decision.

According to the amendment, along with the expansion of the use of modern information and communication technologies in the field of animal identification, the introduction of uniform documentation, reducing the cost of animal owners required for the identification of an animal. As a result of identification, only a certificate will be issued and a veterinary passport will not be required.

Under the previous rules, each animal or group of animals had to be identified, and as a result of the identification, the animal owner had to be issued a “veterinary passport” and a “certificate of identification.” The law “On State Duty” provides for a state fee of 20 manat for obtaining a veterinary passport.

As a result of the change, the need to obtain a bathing passport for each animal will be eliminated, and as a result, the state duty in the amount of 20 manat provided for in the Law on State Duty will not be required. This, in turn, will reduce the cost of meat.

As a result of the change, the need to obtain a bathing passport for each animal will be eliminated, and as a result, the state duty in the amount of 20 manat provided for in the Law on State Duty will not be required. This, in turn, will reduce the cost of meat.

At present, cattle, horses and camels should be marked within 4 months after birth, pigs, sheep and goats within 2 months, and breeding birds at 5 months of age. According to the proposed change, all farm animals will be identified within 1 month after birth.

In order to identify horses and camels, tattoos are made on the inner surface of the ears, and briquetting of breeding birds is carried out by hooping on the legs. According to the draft amendment, the reunification of horses and camels will be carried out by placing a microchip under the skin, and the reunification of birds as a group will be carried out by stamping their habitats.

It should be noted that the veterinary passport will be issued only at the request of the owner of the animal when taking pets abroad.

In addition, according to our information, the government has proposed amendments to the laws “On State Duties” and “On Veterinary”. After the adoption of the project, the cost per animal will be reduced by 5 manat. After the abolition of the veterinary passport and the proposed changes, the financial burden per animal will be reduced by 25 manat, which will lead to lower prices for animal meat.

For example, the cost of 10 kilograms of mutton falls by 2 manat 50 kopecks per kilogram. The cost of 15 kilograms of mutton decreases by about 1 manat 66 kopecks per kilogram.

These decisions and changes, at least as an anti-inflationary measure, could affect the stability of prices for the sale of animal meat.
