Tokayev started to perform the duties of the President of Kazakhstan
Early the president Kasim-Jomart Tokayev, who was declared the winner of the elections, began to perform the duties of the head of state of Kazakhstan for the next 7 years. The inauguration ceremony was held on November 26 at the Independence Palace in Astana.

Early the president elections were held in accordance with the updated version of the Constitution of Kazakhstan. The president is elected for a seven-year term (previously it was five years) and only once.
