Orion is coming home! The amazing image he captured took their breath away: “This is us” |

The Orion capsule has made its closest pass of the Moon’s surface and is now on its way home to Earth. Launched on November 16 by the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket as part of the Artemis 1 mission, the rover that captured stunning images of the Moon has now begun its journey back to Earth. However, the “Earth” picture he drew has caused great interest. He shared that photo on NASA’s official account. Here are the details…

The image captured by the Orion spacecraft looks like something out of a science fiction movie. In this image, the Earth appears as a crescent outside the Moon.

NASA, which shared this image on its official account, said, “You can see the Earth from afar. This is us,” he said.

Orion fired a large engine near the moon on Monday, the BBC reported. It was the last major power maneuver for the new generation crew craft, which has had a very successful flight so far. The vehicle is expected to land in the Pacific on Sunday, December 11.

A smooth orbit around the moon over the weekend will allow astronauts to board Orion for their next mission in late 2024.

But this first flight involved testing systems while the astronauts were away.

The next mission, Artemis-2, will be tested with astronauts. On Artemis 3, humans will land on the surface of the Moon again years later. So humanity will have gone to the moon again.
