Decision of the Central Bank USAIt is related to the action taken by the Federal Reserve System (FED). According to the results of the two-day November meeting, the FED increased the discount rate for the fourth time in a row by 50 basis points – to 4.25-4.50%.
“The Open Market Committee aims to achieve maximum employment and 2% inflation over the long term. In support of these goals, the committee decided to raise the target range for the federal funds rate to 4.25-4.50%,” the statement said.
All members of the committee voted unanimously in favor of this decision.
The Fed has increased the discount rate for the seventh time since the beginning of 2022.
