Internet problem in Goychay: residents complain about delays

“Many people in the villages cannot access the Internet due to poverty”

In Goychay, the population is dissatisfied with the speed of the Internet and its frequent interruptions. They say that the situation has worsened in the last month.

According to residents, this situation is observed more far away from the district center – in the villages.

Goychay has 55 villages, most of them are small villages.

But it is said that these problems are also observed in relatively large villages.

For example, there are more than 600 farms in Chakhirli village of the district, of which approx 200 has an internet line.

Residents say that internet access depends on the phone line and number, which requires additional costs. Moreover, those who spend money cannot use the Internet normally.

“The lines are like a spider web because they are patchy”

Village Resident Orujali Garibov told Meydan TV that the lines and poles in the village are intact.

“The lines look like spider webs because they are patchy, and the poles are rotten because they are made of wood. There is a shortage of specialists. Laying of new fiber optic internet lines is delayed.

The lines drawn by “Aztelekom” are also old. Complaints are increasing every day. There is a one-year-old fitter, he is not good, he can’t even deliver. We cannot find a single educated person who can tell the reason for the internet problem in this village. For example, the modem I brought home was an old version, it didn’t work. They said buy a new one. I went and bought a new one for 50 AZN, but it didn’t work either. In other words, after buying that modem, my computer does not connect to the Internet, because the problem is with the Internet line,” said the resident of Chakhirli.

Orujali Garibov says that despite the fact that normal internet is not provided, if the monthly subscription fee is delayed by one day, the internet is cut off:

“We pay 15 manats every month. If one day is late, they cut the internet. But for one month they give us such internet that it cannot be called internet, but it has a name. Complaint you do it, there is no one watching. We do not have the opportunity to change the line, why should a citizen buy 300-400 meters of wire? Secondly, the problem is not only related to the line, they also lowered the speed.”

“They have an excuse that the line is old”

Village residents say that because the lines and poles are old, they break and fall when an ordinary wind blows, and they miss the Internet for days.

Challenging village resident Bekir Gasimov has been filming the Internet for ten years. According to him, the cost was more than 300 manats. Changed the wire twice, but the problem did not go away. In the last month, he was able to use the Internet normally for only two days.

“In the neighborhood 20 family lives. All the neighbors are complaining, the speed is dead, there are frequent interruptions. Appeals to the Goychay Telecommunication Junction are also unsuccessful. We went to “Aztelekom” and they said that the problem is related to the line, the modem or something. They have an excuse that the line is old. Well, let’s say that my modem is old, after all, the neighbor just installed it. He has the same problem at home. I have also changed the line twice. But why is there no result? First 10 3 manats, plus 3 manats were paid for the phone bill. Later, we increased the internet to 15 manats. Lap 20 If we use AZN, it will not be fixed again”, says Bekir Gasimov.

“I don’t have the opportunity, that’s why I couldn’t take pictures on the Internet”

Bekir Gasimov says that filming the Internet also requires a lot of money. Not everyone can afford it. Therefore, most of the remote and small villages do not have internet. This allows citizens to communicate, information Returns:

“They pull up to the entrance of the neighborhood. It is the citizen’s responsibility to lay copper cable lines from there to the houses. To every family 100 manats. There is a man who lives 2 km away. How do you draw it? Not everyone has the strength. A meter is 50 kopecks. It used to be 30 kopecks. The previous lines also cost 200-300, even 500-600 manats. I couldn’t take it because I didn’t have the opportunity. But the children education important for “Many people in the villages cannot access the Internet due to poverty,” said Vusala Ahmadova, a resident of Lekçiplag village.

“It’s both fundsit is also time-consuming”

“The situation in the village of Alpoud, which is one of the large residential areas of the region, is very bad.”

Aliheydar Rzayev, a village resident, says this.

According to him, out of more than 500 families in the village, only 20 were able to connect to the Internet. Therefore, people use mobile internet packages. This causes additional costs.”

Aliheydar Rzayev says that although there is an automatic junction station device in the village, it has not been installed yet.

He said that even though more than 80 families from the village applied for internet connection, they were not given a positive answer.

“The residents were told to write to the higher authorities. They are for technical expenses funds if they separate, we will shut down the internet. We have repeatedly said that our children suffered oppression during online classes during the pandemic. Almost no lessons were taught, two years of the children were wasted. Some people used mobile internet, which was very expensive.”

“Schools do not have proper computer lessons, nor do they have internet”

One of the residents, Tural Aliyev, says that the situation is the same in the villages of Mirti, Alikand, Shikhbey, Shikhamir Kurdamiş, Muskurlu, Bighir.

“In secondary schools, neither teachers nor students can use the Internet, nor can they take proper computer classes.”

Since 2017, fiber-optic internet lines have been laid in many villages of the region.

The mayor also says there are problems…

Sarkar Süleymanov, a resident of Goychay, told Meydan TV that in Shikhbey, Shikhamir and Malikkend municipalities, of which he is the chairman, a new internet line is being laid only in Shikhbay and the work is about to be completed.

He noted that Malikkend and Chakhirli are in line. Regarding the residents’ complaints, the mayor says that there are problems.

Goychay Telecommunication Hub does not share the allegations

Eynulla Mammadov, head of the Goychay telecommunication hub, told Meydan TV that there is continuous internet in the region.

He does not share the claim of the residents that the complaints are not considered. He notes that all complaints are investigated and appropriate measures are taken:

“Complaints about the Internet should be made individually. Sometimes, when we receive a request, we find that the problem is inside the citizen’s house. Outages are mostly related to modems, not lines and poles. I have not observed any continuous problems with the internet in the region. At the moment, I do not see a serious defect in the field of communication.”

Eynulla Mammadov linked the lack of internet in many villages to citizens not applying:

“Most of the cost in internet recording belongs to the citizen. There should be a desire of the citizens to build the Internet.”

As for the problems experienced in schools, the head of the node said that all existing city schools in the region, and rural schools 10– is provided with fiber optic internet:

“Other village schools are waiting. Installation of fiber-optic internet has been completed in four villages, and installation is ongoing in five. It is not known when the project will end. It is true that our remote villages have not yet been connected to the Internet. There are other villages, such as Alpoud and Shikhamir, where most of the neighborhoods were not connected to the internet because the cabling was not available from the beginning. We have places where there is no such technical possibility. But fiber-optic internet was built and put into use in the villages of Beydovul, Khalitli, Yeniarch, Muskurlu of the region. Works are being carried out in the direction of Chayarkhi, Yalman, Garaman, Malikkend, that is, Shikhbey.”

Science and education Minister Emin Amrullayev told journalists in his briefing that 4,331 across the country school already Azerbaijan Education Connected to the network.

The minister said that the issue of providing them with both internet and computer is on the agenda:

“1,235 of our schools are equipped with fiber optic internet. Only this year, 403 educational institutions were provided with high-speed internet in local networks. In addition, during this year computers were given to a maximum record number of about 30,000 schools.

“This record will be renewed next year. We plan to give about 45 thousand computers. We plan to increase the student-to-computer ratio to 6/1 by 2026. For information, I will say that this ratio is approximately 18-20/1 at the moment,” said Amrullayev.
