Social The Research Center (STM) has conducted another blitz survey to find out the position of citizens regarding the reasons for the price increases they have faced in the last year.

Within the said survey, the respondents were asked, “What do you think are the reasons for the price increase?” the question was addressed and an opportunity was given to choose several answer options.
According to the received respondent opinions, the reasons for price increases have a wide range. So, as the main reason for which the opinions of those studied are the most overlapping Russia–Ukraine conflict ranked first with an indicator of 36.6%. This reason is noted by entrepreneurs and sellers with very little difference prices artificially increasing factor (34.3%) and the world’s economicpolitical opinions about the situation (32.2%) follow the aggregate.
The preliminary analysis of the survey results suggests that two of the first three causes of price increases (inflation) observed in our country are mainly caused by foreign factors, and the finding that current inflation is imported inflation coincides with public opinion.
While 25.6% of the 34.3% respondent segment, which highlighted the artificial price increase as one of the main reasons for price increases, are employees in the public sector, 20Pensioners accounted for .3%.
One of the interesting findings is that, while 11.6% of those who took part in the survey saw weak competition as one of the main reasons for price increases, 23.7% of the respondents suggested that the regulatory influence of the relevant institutions was insufficient.
Within the survey, 4.4% of respondents cited other reasons, while 5.4% said they had difficulty answering this question.
The survey was conducted in the form of a telephone interview among 384 people over 18 years old in December 2022, the principles of voluntary participation and anonymity were preserved. The survey covered 12 economic regions and ensured gender balance. The confidence interval of the results is 95%, the margin of error is equal to 5%.
