The Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Lebanon, Walid Fayyad, made a statement to the press about the electricity crisis in his country. Fayyad warned that they have prepared a plan for a legal and comprehensive solution to the crisis and will present it to the Council of Ministers, referring to the “administrative vacuum” caused by the inability to elect the president since October 2022. if it continues, it national can threaten unity.

Recalling that the government approved a budget of 600 million dollars in August 2022 to increase the production of electricity in the country to 4 hours a day, Fayyad said that the Central Bank refused to pay this amount.

Earlier parliament and stating that there is no need to re-discuss the decision approved by the government or bring it to the meeting of the Council of Ministers, Feyyad noted that a budget of 600 million dollars is needed to provide electricity. 4 hours a day for the next 5 months.

In Lebanon, especially from 2021, for a long period of time, electricity is provided for an average of 2 hours per day, while citizens of the day at other times they try to get limited electricity with very expensive generators.
