The US ambassador says that S. Africa has questions about the energy transition

PRETORIA, 26 january (Reuters) – USAin South Africa ambassador said on Thursday USAFinance Minister Janet Yellen had a “candid” exchange with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and Energy Minister Gwede Mantashe about the Just Energy Transition Partnership.

The need to transition to a low-carbon economy was not controversial, but South African officials questioned how and on what timetable they would get there, Reuben Brigety said.
