RIYADH, 20 February (Reuters) – OPEC+ decisions are not politicized and are based on market fundamentals, Saudi Arabia’s Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman said on Monday, adding that the oil producers’ union was flexible enough to adjust policy when necessary.

Prince Abdulaziz spoke about the group’s decision to reduce the production target by 2 million barrels per day in October last year at a media forum held in the capital, Riyadh.

A group of allies including the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and Russia agreed to cut production by the end of 2023.

In an interview with Energy Aspects last week, Prince Abdulaziz reiterated that the decision was locked in for the rest of the year.
