February 21 (Reuters) – Chesapeake Energy Corp (CHK.O) USAof oil and gas The exploration and production company said Tuesday that it will sell part of its remaining Eagle Ford assets to INEOS Energy for 1.4 billion the agreement to sell for dollars execution did.

“Today’s exit from the Eagle Ford is another important step in our journey as we focus our capital on the reward, rock, return and runway of our Marcellus and Haynesville positions,” CEO Nick Dell’Osso said in a statement.

The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2023.
