Feb 24 (Reuters) – Digital payments processor Stripe Inc, about 55 billion dollars worth 4 billion dollars is close to raising fresh capital, people familiar with the matter said.

Recent capital raising from investors including Thrive Capital, 95 in early 2021 billion dollars marking a sharp drop in the valuation of a fintech startup valued at 1.5% in what could be the largest private funding round in recent memory.

Funding is expected to be completed by the end of March, the sources said, warning that the target number could still be reached.

Stripe is also unlikely to launch an initial public offering (IPO) this year, as its latest fundraising looms tax law project, and for chief financial officer Dhivya Suryadevara, who announced his departure earlier this month substitute they must find.
