BARCELONA, Feb 26 (Reuters) – Microsoft has previewed two artificial intelligence-powered services designed to manage telecommunications networks, using the same capabilities used to manage the tech giant’s Azure cloud platform.
Operators can benefit from advanced artificial intelligence that helps unlock new business opportunities from data and insights about their operations, including the launch of high-speed 5G networks, the company said in a blog post.
Microsoft for the first time 2020It entered the 5G arena in 2010 after acquiring cloud networking companies Affirmed Networks and Metaswitch.
The company is heavily focused on AI, investing heavily in OpenAI’s ChatGPT bot, which has further fueled the widespread attention AI is receiving in Silicon Valley and beyond. Microsoft said last month that it aims to incorporate such AI into all of its products as OpenAI continues to create human-like intelligence for machines.

“What we’re doing is taking our on-premise cloud business and making it specific to this telco network space. I think a really good example of that is all the artificial intelligence operations we’re putting into the system,” said Jason Zander, Microsoft’s executive vice president of strategic missions and technologies.
“We’re bringing the same technology to this space,” he said. “Every operator I’ve shown it to is extremely excited.”
Telecom partners such as AT&T Inc ( TN ), Ericsson ( ERNT.ZA ) and Nokia Oyj ( NOKIA.HE ) will benefit from Microsoft’s new Nexus service, an all-in-one platform that allows operators to manage their networks. cloud and two different “AIOps” services.
Monica Zetzon, vice president of Ericsson, said the developments will allow operators to “transform their core networks while improving the customer experience”.
