“My visit this week supported Foxconn’s efforts to deepen partnerships, meet old friends and make new friends, and seek cooperation in new areas such as semiconductor development and electric vehicles,” Liu said.

Foxconn has ambitious plans to manufacture EVs and also intends to manufacture chips.

“On the basis of sharing, cooperating and developing together, Foxconn will continue to engage with local governments to seek the most beneficial development opportunities for the company and all stakeholders,” added Liu.

He did not mention specific new investment plans in the country and did not make any announcements after the Foxconn visit.
