10 March (Reuters) – Meta Platforms Inc ( META.O ) said on Friday it was exploring strategic alternatives for Kustomer, the customer services company it acquired in a deal that ended last year.
“We are currently exploring strategic alternatives for Customer and will continue to support Customer’s product and customer base throughout this process,” he said. Facebook the owner said in an emailed statement to Reuters, without providing further details about the alternatives.
The Wall Street Journal, which first reported the news on Friday, cited the company and people familiar with the planned deal as saying Meta plans to divest Kustomer as it wants to refocus on its core business.
Phone, email, text messages for customer companies, WhatsApp, sells CRM software to connect with consumers through Instagram and other channels. It has seen usage increase during the COVID-19 pandemic.
