LONDON, March 15 (Reuters) – Britain has extended support for household energy costs by three months until the end of June, the government said on Wednesday, keeping a cap on household bills in a move that will help reduce the country’s cost of living. .

News It comes just hours before Finance Minister Jeremy Hunt announces the government’s budget.

Britainnow average annual bills of £2,500 (3,039 dollars) said it will keep a price ceiling that will see it stay at the level.

Under previous plans, government subsidies were scheduled to be cut from the end of March, meaning bills would rise to £3,000.

“High energy bills are one of the biggest concerns for households, which is why we are keeping the Energy Price Guarantee at its current level,” Hunt said in a statement.

The statement added that wholesale prices are expected to fall during this period, meaning that assistance will not be needed after this period.
