FRANKFURT, March 16 (Reuters) – German Chancellor Olaf Scholz does not expect the war in Ukraine to end soon, he told business newspaper Handelsblatt on Thursday, confirming that Berlin would support Kiev with money and weapons.

“We have to be prepared for a long-term war, even if an early end is desirable,” Scholz said, saying it was absolutely vital that China not arm Russia.
