20 March (Reuters) – Italian luxury sports car manufacturer Ferrari SpA ( RACE.MI ) said on Monday that a hacker had demanded a ransom from the company for certain customer contact information, adding that the breach had no impact on the company’s operations.

Ferrari said it has informed its customers about the potential data breach and the nature of the incident.

The company said it has initiated an investigation with a third-party cybersecurity firm and has notified the appropriate authorities.
