MADRID, March 27 (Reuters) – Spain’s main opposition People’s Party (PP) will be held in December parliament is poised to win the election, but according to published opinion polls, labor can only secure a majority through a potentially problematic alliance with the far-right Vox. Monday.

Survey conducted by GAD3 private survey Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s Socialist-led left judge left his coalition behind the PP and did not even reach a majority combined with all his traditional and casual allies in the parliament.

The conservative PP will win 32.4% of the vote, or between 139 and 143 seats in the 350-seat lower house, largely in line with where it stood in the previous GAD3 poll in November.

The Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) trailed by about 5 points and won a maximum of 111 seats, according to a March 17 poll by the state-run Center for Sociological Research (MDB), which put the Socialists ahead.

Still, their position improved slightly from the previous GAD3 poll, with their junior coalition partner, far-left Unidas Podemos, holding steady at 8.9% of voting intentions, despite a recent rift over gender politics and other issues within the alliance.

Meanwhile, the anti-immigration Vox, which opposes feminism and policies favoring LGBT and other minority communities, still rose to 14.9%, or 43-45 places, from their 2019 election results of 52 seats.

Independents and regional parties will win 30 seats in the election, and most of them will support a left-wing coalition rather than the PP-Vox alliance, which the parties have tested in only a few regions with mixed results.

PP leader Alberto Nunez Feijoo said he would prefer not to ally with Vox in parliament but may have no other option.

In Spain in May, the general election will be held in December political Municipal and regional elections will be held, which will help gauge support for parties.
