Meeting with representatives of the Lithuanian Chamber of Architects: cooperation formats and partnership were discussed

In the press release, it is indicated that there was also talk about the transfer of some implementation functions not characteristic of the Ministry of the Environment to the Lithuanian Chamber of Architects.

“We wanted to meet with the new council and the chairman to talk about mutual expectations. You are our important partners both in policy making and in taking over some of the responsibilities of public administration. At the same time, I want to celebrate that an important event is approaching – the national architecture awards, which will be held for the first time this year and will allow the architect’s work to be honored and appreciated at the national level,” the minister noted.

It was noted that many issues require consistent participation, as it is a long process in which a common position of the architectural community needs to be formulated in order to achieve the best result, the report informs.

“We want reasonable and debate-based legislation. This will allow the best solutions to be chosen and appropriate legislation to be drafted. There is a great need for different formats of cooperation, we often organize working groups in which we invite you to participate as actively as possible and be open. It is natural that opinions differ, so it is very important to discuss with each other. We were very much looking forward to the new council so that we could sit down to discuss relevant issues: certification of architects, issuance of building permits, other processes,” said Deputy Minister of the Environment D. Matuseviče.

The Ministry’s announcement states that there was also an exchange of views on the transfer of recognition of foreign architects to the Lithuanian Chamber of Architects. It is expected that the community of architects collects related information, monitors which architects arrive and leave Lithuania.
