On November 22, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Hissein Brahim Tahan.
“Report” informs that the head of state noted the importance of the participation of the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in the event of the UN Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) and recalled with pleasure his previous meetings with Hissein Brahim Taha.
President Ilham Aliyev once again expressed his gratitude to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for its support to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, and to the member states of the organization for their Islamic solidarity. Emphasizing that Azerbaijan has fully restored its sovereignty two months ago, our head of state noted that the Karabakh conflict has already remained in history.
Emphasizing that Azerbaijan is always committed to the principle of Islamic solidarity, President Ilham Aliyev pointed out that our country supports the activities of the organization, including voluntary financial donations to the organization.
At the same time, the head of state said that Azerbaijan successfully chaired the Non-Aligned Movement for four years and informed about the activities carried out within the framework of the organization during the chairmanship of our country. President Ilham Aliyev noted that within the framework of Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement, prestigious events dedicated to the topic of decolonization are being held in Baku, and that our country has given its support to this process.
Expressing his gratitude for the kind words, the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation conveyed his congratulations on ensuring Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and at the same time, on the restoration and construction works carried out in Karabakh.
The Secretary General highly appreciated the support of the activities of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the voluntary financial donations of Azerbaijan, and noted that this is important for the organization. Hissein Brahim Taha personally expressed his gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for the reception, for regularly holding the events of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Azerbaijan, and for the financial support of our country.
The importance of the events held in Azerbaijan within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, including the 5th conference of labor ministers of the Organization’s member countries and the establishment of the Labor Center of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Baku was noted at the meeting.
