Siyavush Novruzov, chairman of the Regional Affairs Committee of the Milli Majlis, member of the working group on Azerbaijan-US inter-parliamentary relations, said this to “Report”.
According to him, the USAID management’s announcement that it has allocated more than 4 million dollars in humanitarian aid to the Armenian residents of Karabakh is nothing more than confusion: “The Azerbaijani side has repeatedly announced that the Armenians living in the territory of Karabakh have the same rights as the citizens of Azerbaijan. After accepting the citizenship of the country, their social security, pension security and other issues will be provided by the state of Azerbaijan. From this point of view, it is clear that there are other goals behind the step taken now.”
S. Novruzov said that organizations such as USAID try to tempt Armenians with such decisions and make them oppose Azerbaijan: “USAID’s activity is to achieve the implementation of color revolutions in Azerbaijan and other countries. Also, to appropriate the resources of the states with natural resources, is to elect leaders who sit on their word in these countries. The people of Azerbaijan established their independent state at the beginning of the century and today they still have their free choice. Therefore, the insidious plans of the mentioned organization will not come true.”
