Armenia’s MFA added that in order to avoid deadlock in the negotiation process and to achieve lasting peace in the region, Yerevan conveyed its observations regarding the agreement to Baku:

“We are ready to participate in negotiations again.”

At the same time, the ministry named several principles that Armenia will base on during the negotiations:

This is the mutual recognition of each other’s territorial integrity by the countries, the future implementation of the delimitation process based on the Alma-Ata Declaration and the latest Soviet maps, regional communications based on respect for the sovereignty of the countries. opening”.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan announced on November 21 that Baku is ready for direct negotiations with Armenia on a bilateral basis for the completion of the peace agreement as soon as possible.

“The two countries are responsible for the continuation of the peace process, including choosing a mutually acceptable place or deciding on a meeting at the state border,” – said in the statement.

Emphasizing that Armenia has delayed Azerbaijan’s peace treaty proposals for 2 and a half months, the ministry added that this stagnation in peace negotiations does not contribute to stability and prosperity in the region:

Azerbaijan is ready for direct negotiations with Armenia on a bilateral basis in order to conclude the peace agreement as soon as possible. We believe that the two countries should decide together on their future relations.

A brief chronicle of the second Karabakh conflict

As a result of the 44-day Second Karabakh war between the armed forces of Azerbaijan and Armenia in September 2020, Azerbaijan regained control over a part of Karabakh and 7 surrounding districts.

The President said that Azerbaijan has fully restored its sovereignty, the Karabakh problem is over, and the conflict has come to an end.

A peace agreement has not yet been signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
