Baku/18.12.23/Turan: The investigation arrested the pension card of Abzas Media editor Sevinj Vagifgizy’s mother. The woman learned about this on December 15, when she could not withdraw the 326 manat pension she received from her card due to her illness. In the bank, he was told that the funds were seized.
Last month, the Khatai District Court, without any warning, seized the bank accounts and pension cards of not only the employees of Abzas Media – Ulvi Hasanli and Sevinj Vagifgiz, but also their family members.
According to lawyer Zibeyda Sadigovana, the court’s decision is groundless and an appeal will be filed against it. He said that the court made a decision without informing the lawyers.
Legal expert Samad Rahimli said that according to Article 248 of the CPM, the investigative body can restrict the bank accounts of the accused and related third parties if there is evidence of their use for illegal purposes. However, if there is no such basis, the court should not grant the petition. Therefore, it is completely illegal to imprison an old woman’s pension card. The pension paid by the state has nothing to do with the accusation, said Rahimov.
